CBD & Acne
Small buttons everywhere...
Acne is a skin disease from which few people have been able to escape. This skin disease, mainly localized on the face, is never very pleasant for the wearer, and is often a source of complexes. Characterized by an overproduction of sebum, acne leads to a proliferation of pimples of all sizes and colors... And if CBD oil was the solution ?
What is acne ?
Acne is perhaps one of the most common skin diseases. It often appears in teenagers, but can also affect infants and adults, and is characterized by the appearance of pimples (red, yellow, or black) and cysts. While the face and neck are usually the most affected, pimples on the chest and back may erupt, and acne is caused by excessive sebum secretion and poor keratinization of cells. This hyper-secretion has the effect of blocking the excretory canal of the pilosebaceous acnes. This blockage is favorable to the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, responsible for acne.
What is sebum ?
The skin is studded with small sebaceous glands whose work is to secrete a substance on the skin. This substance is the famous sebum. If the glands work too little, the skin will be dry, conversely, if they secrete too much sebum, the skin will be very oily. sebum is therefore an oily film whose role is to keep the skin of the face and body well hydrated. It is one of the various components of the hydrolipidic film.
What can CBD do for your skin ?
The multiplication of skin cells can be influenced by cannabidiol (CBD) as recent research has shown. In addition, the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD not only reduce inflammation of the sebocytes, the cells that produce sebum, but also moderate their production. This reduces the effects of acne.
